What's New at First State

Riding season is just flying by! I can't believe it's July! Our second overnighter of the year was a big success. We took 19 First Staters
on 13 bikes to Williamsport via a 200 mile scenic route lead by Diana. The Williamsport HOG Chapter gave us a scenic tour through the
Catoctin Mountains from Mount Airy to Hagerstown. The following day we were joined by several other First Staters at the Williamsport
River Rat Poker Run. We won for having the HOG Chapter with the most participants.

July is host to a number of events including Mike's Famous Biker Weekend, The Delaware/Maryland State HOG Rally and The
Red Roost Ride. If you are registered for the rally contact Jay to help volunteer at the Rally. He is the Rally Volunteer Coordinator
this year and we don't want him to fall on his ugly mug. We have a great group signed up for the Red Roost Ride. I'm sure everyone knows
about our big opportunity to help out on the ground floor of a new annual motorcycle event to be held in New Castle Delaware. This will be
the first year of Mike's Famous Biker Weekend and Mike's Famous has requested our full support. Volunteers are needed to help direct
traffic for 2 hour time slots. Please contact Diana or Gladys if you want to have fun helping out. There are jobs of all kinds and we will find you something you like to do.

THERE WILL BE NO FOOD SERVED AT THE JULY MEETING, but we will feed you at the upcoming meetings in Smyrna in August
and September. The chapter will provide food in August as an appreciation party for all our volunteering this summer. The dealership will
provide us with dinner in September because they love us!

Make sure to come to the July meeting and sign up for our First State HOG Family Picnic. Cost for members is $10 and guests are $15.
Children under 10 years of age are free.

Our annual June HOG Appreciation Party at Mike's Famous Harley-Davidson in New Castle was a load of fun. Anytime you get free
food and ice cream, it's guaranteed to be a good time. What could be better? We had a huge turnout and almost ran out of food. The folks
at the Ice Cream Corral sure did appreciate our business. They said our members can come in and show their membership card and receive
15% off ice cream anytime! We gave out a lot of certificates last night but the most notable was that one of our Road Captains in Training
graduated and received his RC patch. Congratulations Rich! I hope that means we will keep seeing original ride ideas coming from you. Keep
up the good work!

Diana has updated our online photo gallery with new events.

Our first overnighter of the year was a success. The Karen Fortner Memorial Ride was sad but also fun. Thanks to Ed for leading the ride.
Thanks to Diana for coordinating with the Cheriton Volunteer Fire Department for a memorable event. Our friends at the Fire Department
rolled out the red carpet for us with helicopter and fire truck demonstrations... not to mention FOOD! Keep an eye out for Cheriton Day
information for August.

Diana did a fantastic job of orchestrating the ordering of 2010 First State HOG apparel. All merchandise has arrived. Contact Diana if you need
to pick up your shirts and jackets.
